Kanye West “Homecoming”

This post started out as a test post for me. I wanted to see if I could use WordPress embedable music feature and it apparently worked. But rather than take the song down, I figured I’d keep it up.

After all it is from the CD with the biggest 1st week sales of 2007 so why not?

Enjoy Kanye West “Homecoming” featuring Chris Martin of Coldplay.

“Old School” Joint of the Day: Immature “Please Don’t Go”

 Marques Houston

This video was a serious exercise in boyband cliches.

Matching outfits… Check!

Singing in the rain over heartache… Check!

White Suits and Flashing Lights… Check! and Check!

I remember when this video came out. I believe I was in high school (God I miss Randolph High sometimes) my good buddy Ardmead was a HUGE Immature fan, like cut a chick for Marques Houston type of fan. And I remember making fun of this song and video to her.

I would sing the break at the end of the song all off key… “You!You!You!Yoooooooou!”

Haha, truth is made fun of the song so much that I began to like it. And I still listen to it. Sure it’s pure R&B/Pop cheese. But it’s good. The video though? Wow. Where do I begin?

Marques Houston turns in an NAACP Image Award worthy performance as a man in agony over the loss of his best friend. There is also a lot of chasing girlfriends around trees and cars. (Where most notably we see the moment when Marques realized his BFF/Girlfriend was “Sick”). It’s funny how she got a cramp and falls to the ground in pain yet Marques tries to make out with her. As if making out will make her Cancer pains vanish. You aint that smooth romeo.

Wait that was the name of the other dude right? Oh whatever. Anyhow the sad thing was that I knew a couple of girls that were all “Good for that bitch” when she dies in the end.

So wrong but you gotta fucking love High School.

Here is the video to Immature’s sad (for a 15 year old girl) song “Please Don’t Go”.

Introducing “Amountboyz”….

If you have ever gone to my Myspace Profile at all last year, you would know these people already. I had their song “Walks Away” on my page for a really long time. They are a group of entertainers from NYC who pretty much grind, grind, and grind some more. They have made a name for themselves on their own by dancing and singing virtually everywhere.

They got a 1st place win on BET’s Spring Bling. And they are finally planning to release their debut album internationally. While I don’t know how much of their other material sounds, if it sounds anything like “Walks Away” they will have a hit CD on their hands.

Anyhow, here is their hit (well at least it’s a hit on my Ipod) “Walks Away”.

PS: Be sure to hit up their Official Myspace they have a link to their YouTube page that has videos of them dancing and singing.

Fun at the ER!

I went visited hell on earth yesterday (The Hospital Emergency Room), and I am doing much better now. I just have to say, the healthcare system is a real joke. And I don’t know why I get shocked by the lack of intelligence of the people you encounter there.

There were so many idiots in the waiting room. Bad parents with their equally bad children. Mean old ladies. And people with ridiculous self importance issues demanding top notch healthcare and screaming at staff members (when they don’t even have insurance!)  And while many staff members were really nice to me, the majority of them were no better than the bad patients. It’s like they are so accustomed to dealing with idiots, that they speak to everyone in the same manner. Many of them changed their tune once I responded to them. It’s like they said “Oh wait, he’s a smart one”. It’s annoying. More annoying? Being asked the same “Do you speak English sir?” question over and over.

Oh yeah, and the fact that the only channel that worked in the waiting room was ABC Family and all they showed was “The 700 Club” stealing raising money, and “Gilmore Girls” repeats. So yeah, basically hell on earth for me.

But hey, I am better now, so that’s all that matters right? (Thank God for Codene).

Well folks I’m still recouperating, trying to get better for the weekend. So I won’t be blogging as much unless I’m feeling better.
